They tried to stay strong, to believe that help would come, but the longer they waited, the more they felt the darkness would win. As the night wore on, they huddled closer together, hoping to find some comfort in each other's presence, but the fear and uncertainty continued to grow. They were lost, unheard, and it seemed there was no way out.
